Specialist Physiotherapy Second Opinion Service
Specialist Physiotherapists undertake extensive and advanced training and are awarded the title of Specialist Physiotherapist by the Australian College of Physiotherapists. To become a Specialist Physiotherapist it is an extensive process which begins with completing a 4 year physiotherapy degree followed with a 1-2 year clinical master's degree. The specialisation process is then a further 2.5 years followed with rigorous examinations. The title of Specialist Physiotherapist is awarded to only the most advanced clinicians and is the highest clinical qualification in Australia. Specialist Physiotherapists are seen as experts in their field and contribute to improving patient care, provide professional development, engage in research and implement changes to improve the healthcare model.
