We offer assessment, treatment and management options for complex patients who may have not improved with other treatments. Our second opinion service assists patients in findings their appropriate pathway to recovery.

Dr Taishi Ezaki

Director & Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist

Dr. Taishi Ezaki is a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist (as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists in 2022). He currently works as an Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and Clinical Leader in the Neurosurgical and Orthopaedic Screening Clinic at Cairns Hospital where he regularly provides specialist opinion and management to complex patients awaiting a surgical opinion. His clinical expertise focuses on non- operative management of complex musculoskeletal conditions including spinal and peripheral joint pain.

Taishi is actively involved in quality improvement research, and teaches experienced post-graduate Physiotherapists completing training in the Advanced Musculoskeletal Program in Queensland Health. He is also actively involved in the specialisation training program mentoring registrars and marking final exams. Taishi also provides clinical supervision for Masters of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy students.

Taishi works part-time as a Consulting Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and is the director of Cairns Specialist Physiotherapy where he provides second opinions and professional development in Far North Queensland and around Australia.

This course is designed to assist your clinical management of acute knee injuries including ACL, PCL, MCL, meniscus and multi-ligament injuries. The course will cover indications for non-operative management vs surgery, early stage bracing protocols to enhance ACL and meniscus healing, management of ACL and meniscus injuries, non-operative management of PCL, MCL and multi-ligament injuries and exercise strategies for early, mid  and late-stage rehabilitation to prevent the risk of reinjury. There will also be a clinical assessment of a live patient (complex knee) by a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist.

Lumbar Spine Course - Non-Operative Lumbar Spine Management

The course will be research-bound with evidence-informed application, with practical, postgraduate-level strategies you can use with patients immediately! It is tailored towards clinical practice, and it will improve your clinical skills to confidently manage all types of back conditions.
